According to the reports, Asus will release its “most advanced photography-focused smartphoneâ€, ZenFone Zoom on 22nd January. The new smartphone will feature a quad-core processor, a 13-megapixels rear camera with laser auto-focus and 3x optical zoom, OIS with 10-element lens and RAM of 4GB. This smartphone was unveiled during CES 2015, but now, Asus will release it finally with its wide availability.
The launch event will take place in the home of on the Seven Wonders- The Taj Mahal, Agra. Asus has dropped a company press release saying- “After setting new benchmarks in digital imaging, with its feature-laden ZenFone range, ASUS is gearing up to reinvent smartphone photography. Scheduled to hit the Indian market later this month, the new addition to ASUS’ expanding smartphone range, the imaging-masterpiece will truly enable the users to ‘See The World Up Close’!”
Asus ZenFone Zoom is said to be one of the thinnest smartphone featuring 3x optical zoom and has gone on sale in Taiwan, the home country of Asus just in the last month itself. It is said to be available in two colour options, white and black with a 5.5 inch display, Android Lollipop and 3,000mAh battery. This smartphone flaunts its leather back and aluminium body with a display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
It is being said that the photography capabilities of Asus ZenFone Zoom will be displayed in the Taj Mahal complex, hinting at its macro photography capabilities. Despite having a big camera of 13-megapixels, ZenFone Zoom will only allow the users of having a focus distance of minimum 2-inch. Though 13-megapixels is not a dazzling feature in front of 21-megapixels in Moto X and many other smartphones, but Asus has basically focused on the photography capabilities of its new smartphone. And thus, ZenFone Zoom will feature a larger image sensor with bigger pixels, significantly helping the users in clicking better pictures.
This new smartphone will feature an inbuilt storage of 64GB, which is further extendable up to 128GB. It also has been confirmed that ZenFone Zoom will also support 4G LTE bands. It is expected that Asus will launch a dual-SIM variant, but it does supports single Micro-SIM. Asus has already announced that the price of ZenFone Zoom in US would be around $399. And thus, we are assuming that it will cost around 30,000 INR in India.
All we have to do is to just wait for 22nd January for the launch of Asus ZenFone Zoom. I do hope that this new smartphone will live up to our expectations.
