Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spin the Wheel?
Spin the Wheel is a free online random picker. Enter a list of names or options and spin the animated wheel to select a result.
Is Spin the Wheel free to use?
Yes. You can use this tool for free, without creating an account.
How does the random wheel picker work?
The tool randomly selects one of the entries on your wheel, then animates the wheel to stop on that selection. Each entry has an equal chance of selection, including any repeated names.
Can I add my own names or prizes?
Yes. Edit the Wheel entries box to enter your own names, prizes, ideas, or activities, one per line.
Can I use the wheel for a giveaway?
Yes, for casual giveaways and prize draws. Check your participant list and contest rules first. This is not a certified drawing system for regulated contests.
Can the same name win more than once?
Yes, if that entry remains on the wheel. Turn on “Remove winner after spinning” to remove one occurrence of a selected entry after each spin. If a name was entered more than once, another copy may remain.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The tool is designed for modern mobile, tablet, and desktop browsers.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The spinner runs directly in your browser.
Are my wheel entries saved?
Yes. Entries and selected settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They may be lost if you clear browser data or use a different browser or device.
Can I adjust the spinning time or sound?
Yes. Use the spin duration slider and sound toggle in the Customize your wheel section.
Is the wheel completely fair?
The tool randomly selects among the current entries using browser-based randomness. Each listed entry has an equal chance, but the tool isn't independently certified for high-stakes or regulated drawings.
How can I start a new wheel?
Click “Clear all” to enter a completely new list, or “Reset wheel” to restore the sample entries.
