In this age of super-fast connectivity, a wireless connection is the only way to ensure you are getting the best services. Anything else would limit you in certain ways, and you obviously would not want that. A good Internet connection is one of the primary requirements. Connecting your personal computer with other devices, wirelessly, has become a basic need for a lot of people. Here is how you can turn your phone into a Bluetooth dongle, and understand how these things work.
Why do you need it?
Most personal computers have an enabled Bluetooth connectivity option. However, there are some that don’t have it. An integrated Bluetooth panel is essential. If your computer does not have it, only then you will need a Bluetooth dongle to connect your device to other devices. Make sure it is a secure wireless connection.
Enable Bluetooth
First things first, make sure you have a Bluetooth connectivity option on your phone. To start the process, you have to enable it.
- Open your application screen and then go to “MENU.”
- There you will find an option for “CONNECTIONS.”
- After clicking on that, choose the “BLUETOOTH” button, and click on “ENABLE.”
USB cable
The next thing you need would be a USB cable.
- Go to the settings of your phone and allow the USB cable to connect to your device.
- Find the USB port on the other device that you want to connect your phone with.
- Securely attach both ends of the USB cable to your phone and the other desired device.
Computer setup
Once you are done with the cable, you will have to set your computer or laptop up for the process.
- Once you attach the cable in the USB port, it may take a few seconds for that to reflect on your computer screen.
- After a few seconds, a message will pop up on the screen.
- It would usually say “ADD CONNECTION” or “ADD NEW DEVICE”.
- Once you click on that, it would navigate you to a setup wizard.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation of the Bluetooth phone.
Dial-up networking
If you have successfully followed all the above steps, then you are two steps away from the completion of the setup.
- Click on the “START” button, and an option saying “COMPUTER” will pop up on your screen.
- You will see a phone icon on the screen. Right clicking on it would redirect you to a “DIAL-UP NETWORKING” option.
- Select that, and fill in details like username and password along with a phone number.
- If you go back to the “COMPUTER“ menu, you will see your computer detecting Bluetooth enabled devices. Just click on any of those that you wish to connect to.
