Navratri Garba Song Lyrics in Gujarati

October 7, 2020 by Nitin Maheta

Navratri is one of the largest and most sacred festivals of the Hindus in India. This festival is celebrated in honor of the divine Goddess Maa Durga and her nine avatars. There are four seasonal Navratris – Sharada, Vasanta, Magha, Pausha, and Ashadha. Sharada Navratri is the most celebrated one. It is celebrated in the month of September or October. This festival is celebrated for nine nights and ten days. During these days, devotees fast and worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Each day is associated with each form of the Goddess of power i.e. Shakti. She is the symbol of absolute power. In the eastern and northeastern part of the country, it is celebrated as Durga Puja. Various rituals are performed. Everyone looks very excited during this part of the year. They wear new outfits and go to each others’ houses. They eat good food and exchange gifts and sweets. Everybody’s houses are beautifully decorated with flowers, lights, and lamps. Cultural programs are arranged so that everybody can enjoy. It is celebrated as a grand festival all over the country.

This festival has special religious significance. It is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. The nine days festival comes to an end on the tenth day which is the day of success and victory. This festival also symbolizes the journey from humaneness to divinity and hence reminding people about the biggest goal of human life. According to the mythology, there was a demon whose name was Mahisasura. He had spread terror to all the three worlds. He got a boon of immortality from Lord Shiva according to which no demon, human or god could kill him. He underestimated the feminine energy. To save the three worlds from the hands of terror, Maa Durga took a terrific form and fought a war with him for nine days and killed him on the tenth day. The feminine energy, thus, became enough to vanquish him.
