How to Disconnect Other Users from a WIFI Network?

Having a wireless network connection in our homes or offices can at times be a headache mainly if the WIFI network is not password protected. No matter whether the WIFI network at your home or office is password protected or not, at times some mischief techies may manage to gain access to your WIFI network by either simply guessing the password of the WIFI network or even by using techniques such as piggybacking.

When someone gains access to your WIFI network, apart from the loss in the internet bandwidth and speed one major issue is security. Someone gaining access to your WIFI networks also mean compromising your identity which can be used at times for even illegal activities online.

There are quite some ways by which you can keep your WIFI network safe by disconnecting or removing unauthorized users accessing your WIFI network. Even though there are several third-party applications and tools that lets you monitor your WIFI network regularly and remove users that aren’t authorized, today we pick the Who is My WIFI tool.

Who is My WIFI is a very popular tool that lets you monitor users connecting to your WIFI network and below is how to disconnect other users from WIFI network using the Who is My WIFI tool for Windows.

How to Remove Unauthorized users from WIFI network using Who is My WIFI tool?

Here is how you can find a list of all the devices connected to your WIFI adapter using the Who is My WIFI tool for Windows:

  1. First of all, download and install the Who is my WIFI tool for Windows from here.
  2. After completing the installation, launch the Who is My WIFI tool on your Windows PC.
  3. Once launched, click on the “Scan” button to get a list of all the devices that are connected to your home/office WIFI adapter.

The steps listed below will take you through the procedures required to permanently block users from being able to connect to your WIFI adapter:

  1. Copy the MAC Address of the users whom you want to remove and block from accessing your WIFI network.
  2. Now, from the network configuration settings of your WIFI router, navigate to the “Wireless” option and then choose the “Wireless MAC Address Filter” option.
  3. Paste the MAC Address that you copied in Step 1 above and click on the option that says “Deactivate Association”. Then click on the “Save” option.
  4. Now you can search again using the Who is My WIFI tool to verify whether the device with the MAC address you copied above is still able to access your WIFI network or not.

How to Remove Unauthorized users from WIFI Network using WIFI Router Settings?

  1. First of all, find the network address of your WIFI router. The network address is usually listed below the WIFI router itself or can be found in the user manual that came with your WIFI router. The address will be something similar to 111.111.1.1.
  2. Once the network address is found, enter the address on a web browser. Make sure that the device whose web browser you are using is connected to the same WIFI network.
  3. Once the web address loads on the web browser, enter the username and password which can also be found under your WIFI network modem.
  4. After you login, navigate to the Access management settings option and ban the MAC addresses you want to stop letting use your WIFI network.
