How to Take a Screenshot on any Android

January 23, 2022 by Nitin Maheta

Android is the most popular OS on smartphones with over 80% market share. One of the most celebrated features on Android smartphones is the screenshot. Screenshot lets you capture the content on the screen in the form of an image. You can further share and edit this image per your needs and requirements.

However, screenshot procedures for different brands can be different because they use their own UI with Android support. For this reason, you can visit the respective brand’s website. In this article, we will guide you to take a screenshot on stock Google Android.

Step 1

Unlock your phone and access the screen you want to capture. Simply open the desired window on your display.

Step 2

Once you are on the window, press the power button and the volume button at the same time. If this doesn’t work, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. You will be directed to a small prompt. Here you can tap on the screenshot button to capture the screen.

Step 3

Once you capture the screenshot, you will see a small photographic flash on the screen. It is an indicator that you have successfully captured the screen. On the button left or top corner of the screen, you will see a miniature of the shot you have captured. You can tap on the miniature icon to access the screenshot.

Step 4

If the miniature icon doesn’t show, go to the gallery option. In the case of stock Android, you can also visit Google photos. In the Albums section, choose the screenshot folder to access the image.
