NO Gifts Wording on Birthday Party Invitations

1. For a kid’s birthday invitation

When your kid has almost everything he or she needs, be it toys or clothes then it is wise for you do not want your kid to receive any birthday gift. It will only lead to an overflow of things that are completely unnecessary. Most toys are made of plastic and so if you can avoid the usage of them up to some extent, it will be better for the environment. Anyway, your kid would not really care, all they really want is play and not a plaything. Having fun with their friends is what true celebration means for them. Therefore, to let your guests know that you would not be accepting any gifts, you can add a line in the invitation that would subtly hint your intention without making it seem rude or offending. Here are a few lines that you can use in your invitations to get your point across your guests in a polite way.

By the grace of God, our kid has everything he needs and your best wishes are the only gifts we would like you to give him.
In this happy celebration, your presence is the best present we could ask for.
Our kid has more toys than he is capable of counting, but some homemade cookies or cakes will be really appreciated by him.
Instead of bringing any gifts, we would like you to bring a letter written by yourself for the birthday girl. We plan on gifting her with all these letters on her 16th birthday.
We want to save you the trouble of buying gifts for our kid, all we want is for you to come to the party and have lots of fun.
Children love attention more than they love gifts, so give them the gift of your time and it would be the best gift for them.
There is truly nothing that our kid needs, but if you insist on giving something then we would like you to donate it to a charity, there are many kids out there who might actually be in need of these things.
Our kid actually loves playing with garbage, so there would not be a more perfect gift than a box from your recycling.

2. For the birthday invitation of a teenager

It is true what they say, it is impossible to meet the demands of your kid when he or she reaches teenage and no matter what you give them, they are hardly ever impressed. So instead of indulging in their whims, it is better to do away with gifts altogether. Let them get what they want for themselves, otherwise, if they do not like your gift then there is a high chance that they will never really using it. So, here are a few ways to help you add on the birthday invitation that you would not like your guests to bring any gifts.

Our son/daughter only wants you to give them the gift of your hearty blessings.
Our son/daughter half the time do not know themselves what they want, so we do not want you to go through the troubles of getting them gifts, instead, we would like you to bring them the gift of your wit and humour to make the party more lively and memorable.
Instead of going through the whole tiring process of choosing and buying gifts, you could get the birthday girl/boy movie tickets for the weekend. We think they would really appreciate it.
It is funny how our son/daughter have everything they would ever need and a never-ending list of everything they could possibly want, but having fun is on the top of that list and for that to happen, we only require the presence of your happy presence.
We are teaching our children how to be minimalists and therefore, we do not want you to bring any gifts but if you insist on bringing them something, then a basket of goodies or some homemade delicacies would just be perfect.
This time, we actually want to focus on the “fun” part and not the “gift” part. So, all we need you to do is to celebrate with us and have fun.

3. For invitation of adults

When you are a grown up, the concept of gifts tend to become a superficial one and all you truly want is to get together with your friends and have fun. So here are some ways by which you can subtly make a suggestion on your birthday invitation that you do not really want any gifts.

Your time is the most precious gift you can give me, so all I want is for you to make it to the party.
Instead of giving me a gift, pray for me to be successful in what I am doing, that’s all I ask.
If you really want to give me a present, then just be present at the party. It would mean the world to me.
Your friendship is the best gift you have bestowed me with, I will cherish it forever. What more could I want?
I really cannot think of anything that I could possibly need more than to spend some quality time with my friends, recalling old times and laughing so hard that my stomach hurts.
Memories are the best gift you could ever give me, so be present at the party and help me live the best moments of my life and create the best memories that I would relive even hundreds of years later.
