Different ways to say “No Gifts, please”

October 11, 2018 by Nitin Maheta

When you are planning to throw wedding parties or birthday parties or to celebrate your anniversaries, there is always the issue of gifts. While guests are expected to give you gifts, sometimes you may not want them to. Giving gifts has been an age-old tradition and therefore, it can get awkward when you try to tell your guests not to bring any gifts. There are some ways to politely let them know about your intentions of not wanting to receive gifts. You can always spread the news by telling your friends and family about it and then they can circulate it among the guest circle. There is another way of letting your guests know that you do not wish to receive any gifts, you can add a line or two in the invitation. To directly say “No Gifts, please” might seem a little too direct and you end up emphasising the very thing you wished to avoid- gifts. So, here are a few ways by which you can indirectly say “No Gifts, please” on your invitation.

Different Ways to say “NO Gifts, Please”

The only thing that will make this celebration truly joyous is the present of your presence.
If you want to give us a gift, give us the gift of your love and blessings.
The one gift that would truly make us happy is the gift of your happy presence.
We know you care,
So your love is all we ask you to bear,
In your hearts, you bring this precious present,
And honour us with your lovely presence.
All we want from you is to gift us with the honour of receiving you and celebrating with you, this day of joy.
Bring us your quick wit, your charming smile, and your healthy appetite, that is all we want.
Gift us with some of your time such that we all have a memorable time together.
We have everything we need, and all we truly want is to have fun so gift us with some of your jokes and a healthy diet of laughter.
We do not really want anything, but if you insist on giving us a gift then we would like you to make a small donation to the charity.
Gift us with moments, those unforgettable moments that we would relive even in the hardest of times and smile.
We would like to save you the unnecessary trouble of getting us gifts, your support on this momentous day of joy is all we wish to ask for.
If you really wish to give us a present, then we would like you to give us a letter written by you and we would cherish those words forever.
In these busy days of your life, all we want is a small gift of your precious time.
We do not really want any gifts but still, if you wish to give us something, some tasty homemade delicacies or goodies are always appreciated.
It is your thought that counts, the fact that you think about us and want to give us something we would like is a great present in itself.
Life is a rough road, but these occasions of celebration are the ones that show us that life cannot be so bad after all if we have something to celebrate about. All we want is for you to share this celebratory feeling with us.
Life maybe seven shades of sadness but on this night, we only want you to bring your happy feelings and gift us with a night of seven shades of colourful happiness filled with the light of laughter and spirit of fun.
Gift us but not with things, gift us with an experience of such unbound joy that we never forget this day.
Why bother so much about getting us a gift, when your friendship is the greatest gift we could have ever wanted from you.
We live every day, but we relive only a very few of them. The present of your presence would make this day one of those few days that we would always relive in our memories.
